Common Kings music is an array of head-rocking beats, relatable lyrics and feel- good vibes. Each of the band members’ personality spills over into Common Kings sound, producing phenomenal pop hits infused with the boys’ love of their Polynesian roots; rock, reggae, and R&B influences; and a live show that is as soothing as it is exhilarating.

The band, comprised of Bass Player LuiKirimaua (Ivan), Lead Singer Sasualei Maliga (Junyer), Drummer Jerome Taito(Rome), and Lead Guitar Player Taumata Grey (Mata), forged a bond during a jam session at Ivan’s house and Common Kings was born. The band name: a nod to the fact that the boys are both proud representatives of their home lands of Samoa, Fiji, Tonga and Hawaii, and everyday guys from Orange County, California trying to live out their dreams.
And living a dream, they are!

"Let our New Year's resolution be this: we will be there
for one another as fellow members of humanity,
in the finest sense of the word."

Social Media

Social media refers to interaction among people in which they create, share, and/or exchange information and ideas in virtual communities and networks. So far in our dance blogs it is SOS. (same old shit.) The Two Centers and the Guest Authors being the obvious solutions.

"Year's end is neither an end nor a beginning but a going on, with all the wisdom that experience can instill in us."

Furthermore, social media may depend on mobile and web-based technologies to create highly interactive platforms through which individuals and communities share, co-create, discuss, and modify user-generated content. They may introduce substantial and pervasive changes to communication between organizations, communities, and individuals.

Social media differ from traditional/industrial media in many ways, including quality, reach, frequency, usability, immediacy, and permanence. There are many effects that stem from internet usage. According to Nielsen, internet users continue to spend more time with social media sites than any other type of site.

Much of the criticism of social media is about its exclusiveness, (Newsletter, Web sites) as most sites do not allow the transfer of information from one to another, disparity of information available, issues with trustworthiness and reliability of information presented, concentration, ownership of media content, and the meaning of interactions created by social media.

"Jingle Bell Rock" by Bobby Helms

However, it is also argued that social media have positive effects such as allowing the democratization of the internet while also allowing individuals to advertise themselves and form friendships.

Jan and I were talking about going Dot’s on Sat night –our fave Oceanside Band – hope you can make it!  Fundraiser – also on the ticket – Koa Uka – Hawaiian Reggae – still danceable!

Not received as poster. I had to use print screen and touch it up with Photoshop. Posters are easy, just wham, wham and wham. We cannot do what one person tells us to do. But we can certainly hear what many of you say and then we must move accordingly. Mahalo.

The Two Center

The Information and Photo Contributor:

As human beings, our job in life could be to help people realize how rare and valuable each one of us is. Each of us has something no one else has or ever will have - something inside that is unique to all time. And your view point from that side of the dance floor is sure to be different than mine. It could also be part of our lives to encourage each other to discover that uniqueness and to provide ways of developing its expression.

"You were not put here on this earth to simply break even.
You are here to break rules, break records, and break through."

Getting a message across has never been easier but being heard has never been harder. The new currency in the democratized world of digital media is content creation, info and pics. The goal is to create content that is relevant, resonates, and is real. That’s an advantage for Blog PR; after all we don't build your names on the catchy slogans that almost everyone in advertising now mocks in derision – if they’re even paying attention to them. Come on folks. use it.

Probably the greatest cellist that has ever lived, Pablo Casals. was asked why he continued to practice at the age of 90. He replied, "Porque creo que estoy haciendo progreso."
(Because I think I am making progress.)
Hey, that's ma' man.

I am not all doom and gloom about the situation. Public Relations has the most valid underpinnings for success in our endeavor. Our aptitude and appetite for qualitative research is second to none and we make progress to connect to opinion leaders to acquire insights about perceptions, attitudes, and behaviors that analytics can’t.

We just need the Two Centers and their unique opinions, a great start. Technology can’t replicate the quality human connections or metaphysical experiences that people crave and that will become even more evident as this machine age advances.

HART Rail Art Application.

HART Rail Art Application Illegally Prepared by State Workers
By News Release, Hawaii Free Press ::  Ethics,  Rail

(Charge No. 13-Cg-12; David Behlke, Respondent)
Hawaii Ethics Commission, November 20, 2013

On September 18, 2013, the Hawaii State Ethics Commission (“Commission”) issued a charge (“Charge”) against David Behlke, a faculty member of Kapiolani Community College (“KCC”) and the director of Koa Gallery, KCC’s art gallery, for violations of the fair treatment provisions of the State Ethics Code, Chapter 84, Hawaii Revised Statutes (“HRS”).

The Commission issued the Charge based upon information obtained from its investigation of a complaint against Mr. Behlke. The Charge alleged that Mr. Behlke improperly used his position as director of the Koa Gallery to direct Koa Gallery staff to perform private business tasks for him that were unrelated to Koa Gallery operations.

We all know that the Present Rail Party is in control. Millions and Millions of dollars in pure gravy train profits. It's the bread, Fred.

The Charge also alleged that Mr. Behlke improperly utilized Koa Gallery equipment, supplies and other resources for private business purposes. The Charge further alleged that Mr. Behlke, in a private capacity, hired subordinate Koa Gallery staff for private business matters in violation of the statute’s provision that prohibits a supervisor from entering into substantial financial transactions with subordinate employees.

Although he denies knowing that his actions may have violated the State Ethics Code, Mr. Behlke does not contest the Charge and the allegations contained therein. As part of a negotiated resolution, Mr. Behlke paid an administrative fine of $2,000 to the State’s General Fund.

All truth passes through three stages. First, it
is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed.
Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

Pub's Side Note: the Hawaii State Ethics Commission seem to be a lot better than we have assumed. They are doing a terrific job for the citizens of this community, in spite of the Present Rail Party.

Bikes

A bicycle, often called a bike, "pedal bike", "pedal cycle", or "cycle", is a human-powered, pedal-driven, single-track vehicle, having two wheels attached to a frame, one behind the other. Has always been considered the most efficient form of transportation. A bicycle rider is called a cyclist, or bicyclist.

"The public has an insatiable curiosity to know everything, except what is worth knowing"

Bicycles were introduced in the 19th century in Europe and now number more than a billion worldwide, twice as many as automobiles. They are the principal means of transportation in many regions. They also provide a popular form of recreation, and have been adapted for use as children's toys, general fitness, military and police applications, courier services, and bicycle racing.

"A Bicycle Built For Two" 1892

In many ways, there has never been a better time to be a bicyclist on Oahu. The number of cylists has been increasing slowly for a number of years. Now with the coming Disaster of the Rail and the obvious deterioration of public transportation it has become imperative for quite a few citizens. Just to get around, commute to work. Progressive mayors in many cities in the US are laying down bike paths and installing bike racks in many public parking lots.

A Flying Pigeon in Hutong.

The classic Flying Pigeon bicycles are the PA-02 and PA-06 (men's) and PB-13 (women's). These are one of the most iconic symbols of old China (the sturdy, single speed black roadster bicycle ridden by the masses). And fully aware that Oahu wants to do everything possible to avoid the Rail Humbug.

They are simple, conceived of as a working machine meant to last a lifetime. They are strong, all-steel single speed with 28 in (710 mm) wheels, fenders, fully covered chain, sprung leather saddle, rear rack and rod brakes (a handlebar lever connects directly to the brake pads), double stand (PA02 and PA06) or side stand (PB13). Like the Ford Model T, they are only available in one color, black, except for the flare of vanilla at the fender tips. They can be equipped with a dynamo lighting set.

The government estimates that a half-billion bikes are in use throughout China, many handed down through generations. The Pigeon is one of the few nostalgically-regarded artifacts of China's postrevolutionary era, which was darkened by the Cultural Revolution and intense poverty.

The company does not advertise its traditional bicycles such as the PA-02 as the brand is so infused in Chinese society and culture and much of the brand's old rolling stock is still in service.
There are, however, localized advertising campaigns. And they are now coming into Oahu. The Rail Mess is goofing up a lot of people but Bike Riders can take advantage.

Aiea

Aiea is the home of Pearlridge, Hawaii's largest enclosed shopping center and second largest shopping center in the state. It has become so well known that the area around the center is known as Pearlridge and extends well into Pearl city.

The mall is separated into two sections, known as Uptown and Downtown, and includes a monorail. There is a hospital located on mall property (Kapiolani Medical Center at Pali Momi), and Hawaii's largest watercress farm (Sumida Farm) is part of the landscape.

Aiea is also home to Aiea Shopping Center. The center's anchor stores include Times Supermarkets, McDonald's, Starbucks, and Jamba Juice. Aiea Chop Suey, Aiea Copy Center, Koa Pancake House, and L&L Drive inn are other businesses located in the center as well.

Only love and death will change all things but
change may bring opportunity.

There are two dance studios located in Aiea - Pearlridge. Nixon Performing Arts Center and Rosalie Woodson Dance Academy. Both have Ballroom dance classes but not very often. The population is there, and there have been some inroads but they remain somewhat private and exclusive.

Exhibition Dancers in the West

Throughout the years the extremely good dancers in the West have recognized that instead of easily recognizable steps, variations with high level of technical difficulties are created in dance choreography to surprise and hopefully to please the audiences.

Music is forever; music should grow and mature with you,
following you right on up until the day you die. ~Paul Simon

A typical example is the use of syncopated timing in variations. Dancers must know how to dance in regular timing before they can dance in syncopated timing. So it should be all right for everyone to just wait a little while longer. Of course, folk dancing is just fine for everyone.

The Functions Of A Ballroom Latin Outfit

The female Ballroom Latin costume is always the center of attraction on the dance floor to the audiences especially when the dancer is twisting and turning with speed. Of course there is difference is spirit too.

More importantly, the reason for dancing variations is to demonstrate the skill level of the dancers. That is why in competitions and demonstrations, professional dancers tend to dance more variations than just basic syllabus figures.

"Thank God I'm a Country Boy" by John Denver

This also proves that without a solid foundation and understanding of the basic techniques, it is rather difficult for beginners or hobbyists to imitate these moves although they may look easy on the surface. Take your time and enjoy the process along the way.

Yes, social media and transparency will be crucial in our new blogs. And all the blogs are reflecting what a blog can do and give us the precedent of what the other blogs can do for the readers. And of course, each blog will eventually develop their own idiosyncrasies. Of special impact will be the Two-Centers and the Guest Authors.
