Bottom of the Pile

It has been mostly my fault that I have been neglecting Dancing Nights blog. Richie Fun has been doing a good job of holding it up but I have to do something too. First we need more comments in the blogs. And now I have definite plans to go to town at least once per week. I will include social dance Night Clubbing to get some information into this blog and get a more decent amount of hits.

"Always do your best. What you plant now, you will harvest later."

In a social ballroom type Night Club many guys just stand around the bar uncomfortably with a drink in their hand staring at the women and a handful of guys having fun. On Oahu, the 80/20 principle definitely applies - 20% of the guys are having 80% of the fun and socializing! Learning to dance can give you confidence and it's a great social skill.

Regarding attraction, being fun combined with leading on the dance floor differentiates you from the quiet, nice guys (but unfortunately generic) on the sidelines or the creepy guys who just want to grind with girls. Most women agree that if a guy can dance, it makes him much more attractive.  More importantly, dancing is just a freeing, fun activity that melts away stress.

Fortunately, with some practice, rhythm can be learned and the even step is the most important to get your rhythm in order. That is just left, right, left, right and keep going according to the rhythm that is playing. I've seen a lot of people who have had trouble in this area and picked up from the Even Step. Any kind of solo dance like line dancing would do just fine for beginners. From there you can look around where you would like to learn from Professionals and Social Dance Clubs.
