Looking It Over

Makaha evolving very nicely. Some time ago, they had the queen of Makaha, Rell Sun. Then they had the Makaha Sons of Niihau but even then it was accepted rather quietly and respectfully. And we all fondly remember Bruddah Iz as Da Best. Somewhere along the line, the Makaha Resorts emerged and while not a smash hit it has gradually integrated with some of the community.

"To get up when we are down, to try harder when we struggling, to put that extra effort when we are in pain, to comeback when nobody expects you to, and to stand tall when everyone is pulling you down, hey, that is what make us the Waianae Coast. Don't quit now, Kimo."

With a Super Market as anchor, the very good Makaha shopping center could expand beautifully. But of course the Industrial Park would come first. Just pick some land that has not been used for agriculture for 5000 years and you should be all right.

"Over The Rainbow" by Bruddah Iz

Many residents would find Makaha transformed into a real paradise, and they wouldn't have to spend two thirds of their life dedicated to a job in Honolulu. The Industrial Park? "I coulda been home in 20 minutes." And we all know that with the Rail Fiasco the Public Transportation is going to get worse. Not to mention the increase in traffic on our already crowded Farrington Hwy. Will others on the coast see the advantage of another Industrial Park? The Present Rail Party got a lotta dough.

Fortunately we are step ahead in the Industrial Park planned for Lualualei. It will be Paradise soon for many residents in the community. No mo da Rail Disaster or Da Bus to get to the Rail Mess. Of course some people are already talking about going around Kaena Point to Mokuleia. But Honolulu gonna try put a stop to that. We will be forced to do business with them. They don't want Waianae to be dealing with the North Shore. The citizens don't count. It's the money, Sonny. It's the bread, Fred.
