Moving Slowly

We do have enough bloggers who are committed to a dream. In Hawaii, we have close to one million websites, perhaps 100 thousand blog sites and 10,000 being added everyday. Some of these websites and blogs won’t make it past the first two months.

"To move to our favorite music, to inspire, that is the true gift of the dance."

For many, there is the excitement of something new and the content will flow freely. But, as time goes by and there isn’t a ton of fame or income the excitement fades. If you have a counter, you may notice that you are in single digits (nine or less) average hits per day. Reality sets in that this is hard work and you may wonder, is it worth it?

You may learn that there is a point of diminishing returns and by yourself there is a limit. There is the make it or break it point where web or blog sites die. Your lack of fame makes your contributions of information into SOS and the variety for more interest is not there.

Then you know, you need different view points in your blog to make it truly social media. A different method of getting comments. And for us in the dance environment it is going to be crucial. Any point of view is important to our friends, relatives and fellow dancers. The Two Center will be an important part in the development of our blogs to eventual independence.

The best example we have now is Willy Dionisio of Kapolei Chapter HBDA. Just contributed photos and a beautiful write up of their Social. The hits on the blog Platinum Horseshoe are going through the roof and everyone benefits. Willy and the members of Kapolei and Ewa Chapters, HBDA, the total dance environment in West Oahu and of course the blog too. It is totally a win-win situation.
