The Plateau

We are at a plateau and not moving upward fast enough, I can see most of it very clearly in the stats furnished by Blogger from Google Analytics, I find many referrals from other countries which we don't need. Most of our reader/dancers have friends and/or relatives living on Oahu. Those are the people we seek. Perhaps some of them may be interested in reading, writing, looking and submitting photos and whatever it takes to make this blog into Social Media of cultural dancing on Oahu.  The concept and the advantages of blogging are still too new and I know they are not there for everybody just yet.

“Social dancers believe that dance is the art closest to nature.”

Facebook? They get 50 million photos daily. Did someone miss one of mine? They get 3 billion videos (with a B) daily. And some are developing into nice professional looking videos. Did someone miss one of yours? In our blogs, the submissions are from our fellow dancers on Oahu. And who are our readers. Someone in Nigeria? I am not counting on that. How about Lower Slobavia? Well, our reader/dancers will eventually realize that this is "our thing" on Oahu.

Most dance groups have beautiful Web Sites and good advertising - newspapers, magazines, radio, and TV. They don't need blogging? Up to them, but some are going to see blogging as a valuable "addition to" and not necessarily an "instead of." There are quite a few dance blogs in Hawaii, make use of them. Most are for free and most of what you write will be read by someone on Oahu.
