Blackpool

What happened to our people at Blackpool? I thought by now they would have been willing to share the goodies with their fellow dancers out here in the middle of the Pacific. Let us be patient.

"Know that you are the perfect age. Each year is
special and precious, for you only live once.
Be comfortable with growing older."

Just a block away from the Blackpool Tower, lit up for the occasion.

Blackpool regularly has five different Festivals. By far the largest of all five Blackpool Festival is the period of nine days, 22nd - 30th May 2014. This Festival covers Ballroom and Latin American dancing, incorporating the British Open Championships for Adult Amateur and Professional couples, plus Formation Teams.

The year 2005 saw the introduction of two new events, the British Rising Star Amateur Ballroom and Latin Competitions. And three Invitation events took place this year, the Professional Team Match on the Saturday, the Exhibition Competition and the Inaugural Pro/Am Show Dance on the Thursday evening, created a vast amount of interest and crowd appeal.

2014 was the event's 89th year and there were 60 countries represented. A total number of 2,953 entries in the 12 events, 3 Ballroom Formation Teams and 5 Latin Formation Teams.
