Wot Happened?

Amazing what a few information contributions from Willy of Kapolei Chapter HBDA did for Kapolei Social Dance blog. It lowered long standing number 2, Blogging Hawaii and long standing number 3, Oahu West so that now Kapolei Social Dance is firmly ahead of the others in second place behind hard to equal Town Dancer.

"Will it be easy? Nope. - Worth it? Absolutely."

So it quite evident of the effect of the Two Center and even more of the Guest Author. I am very little by myself and in blogging it is considered SOS. (same old shit.) At this moment any new content is welcomed simply because it is not SOS. Simple.

If Kapolei Social Dance gets another Two Center and a couple Guest Authors they could run the hits up to over 100 average per day. My opportunity to make them independent. Hey, I am trying but it all depends on the Two Centers willing to get their two cents in for the benefit of their fellow dancers and readers.

And another surprising thing is that Kapolei Social Dance is being read at the Turtle Bay Hilton. Isn't that against the law? The thing is Willy started it and with a few more people writing now and then it can be a Hawaiian Island blog and read throughout the Islands. A dreamer am I? Yes. And I will enjoy watching them run the hits up into the clouds.

The Mexican Civilizations long before the arrival of the first illegal aliens were pretty advanced in dancing with "Professional" Musicians and Dancers, They had all the basics down pat a full two millenniums before Rudolf Laban in 1928.

Rudolf Laban's, five basic dance movements:
First, Gesture is any movement to music not connected with supporting the body's weight.
Same as Posturing.
Second, Stepping: which is simply transferring the weight from one support to another.
Third, Locomotor: Movements from one location to another. May consist of Walk, Leap, Jump,
Hop, Gallop, Slide and Skip.
Fourth, Jumping is simply a movement without a point of support.
Fifth. Turning which is changing the position of the front.

Put together with only four basic step movements, the even rhythm, rock and chasse,
slow/quick and you can have a ball enjoying the music of your choice.

You want fancy? Salsa has almost 700 documented step patterns right now!
