Hi Pops Nightclub Series should be on your bucket list!

Dancing to the Hi Pops had been a game changer. I heard from Cher about the Hi Pops after the end of the 2013-2014 season so decided to investigate/experience dancing to a symphony orchestra. Ordered season tickets for the 2014-2015 season. The Nightclub Series was advertised as music from the 60's, 70's and 80's.
Waiting anticipating something special like a child @ Xmas was titillating. Matt Catingub did not disappoint. His 1st offering this season was the Beatles Abby Road/White Album concert. OMG, mind, sensory, physical heaven! As a Beatles fan revisiting the albums was like time travel. While dancing I sang along with lyrics and melodies enshrined in my youth. Can't remember what I did yesterday but I remembered those songs. LOL

The 2nd concert was Steely Dan, Chicago and Blood Sweat and Tears. Need I say more?

The Hawaii Ballroom @ the Sheraton housed this event. Word is next year the Hilton Hawaiian Village will host all the Hi Pops concerts making it much easier for everyone rather the different venues previously used.

Saturday was the last of this season's Hi Pops nightclub concert series. Taylor Dane was the featured vocalist for the music of the 80's. Also featured were two young local Divas (can't remember their names) they were wonderful.

Attendance was very good. I was guessing over 500 but didn't really pay attention 'cause as soon as the music started Sarah and I were on the floor joined by Cher/Rich and others.

The music covered the 80's. There was also a medley of instrumentals which included "Axle F and Chariots of Fire" it was a hoot doing different dances to that medley.

The young Divas performed a few songs during the first set and then to close the 2nd set Taylor Dane wowed the crowd w/her hits which included "I'll always love you." Well, that got the lovers up for an intimate belly bump. At the end of her set she did uptempo hits and people charged the floor and even danced around their tables! It was very cool feeling all that positive energy permeating the room.

If you put anything on your bucket list dancing to the Hi Pops should be there somewhere. Thanks to Matt and Dona Bebber you now can experience dancing to a world class symphony orchestra. Donna told me that both the concert and Nightclub series for the upcoming season will be mix and match. You can pick and choose the events you wish to attend w /discounts offered.

Can't wait to see what Matt will offer for the 2015-2016 season.

Info for next season will soon be available.
