Wake Up, Waianae

The Present Rail Party and the "Keep the country, country" people are at it again. No industrial parks on the Waianae Coast. They are of course, the Fat Cats in Honolulu. The Waianae coast must be kept no higher than two stories and a minimum in school money - no sidewalks and specially, no shoe stores. We don't have to think, they will do all our thinking for us.

"In order to succeed we must first believe."

The Beautiful Waipio Business Park
If we did not have the Rail Disaster, we coulda had Farrington as a six lane highway and everyone riding back and forth comfortably. But the Fat Cats wouldn't be making those millions and millions of dollars in that Choo Choo train that will be slower than any bus we got now. But lying is their thing and people are beginning to wonder what happened to that last 100 million. No one knows - so no one can tell. Look what they did to Ben, lying is their business and they are experts.

The Beautiful Business Park at Pearl City.
The business park is an area of land in which many office buildings are grouped together. All of the work that goes on is commercial and light industry, not heavy industry or residential. These are popular in many suburban locations, where development is cheaper because of the lower land costs. The lower building costs for building is wider, not necessarily higher. They are also often located near motorways such as Farrington Highway. For the Waianae Coast it would be a God Send, thousands of cars off the freeways to and from Honolulu. Thousands of cars missing from downtown Honolulu traffic. And "I coulda got home in 20 minutes."

This new approach to spacial organization has arisen because of the Rail Catastrophe looming ahead for the citizens of the coast. It is getting to be one Big Humbug. Rapid Transit was a deliberate lie, not a misnomer. Just to get at the millions and millions of dollars in profits from it.

Low-rise buildings and attention to free spaces in the Waianae area is a way of shaping the environment and helping the users of public transportation. In sum, business parks could be thematic precincts of autonomous architectural set pieces arranged around parking lots and communal services. They would be situated at the most accessible points of the Waianae Coast road network.
