What is depression?
For a ninety year old it can be quite telling. You may have nothing more to contribute for you circle of friends. I am leaving these blogs one by one. The first one is Town Dancer, one time my pride and joy. Then I have to find something else I can do with my computer to disseminate dance information to the entire Island.
So I do not know what I am doing, I have to find out. I am disoriented and I hope to find the right advice somewhere. I can use the computer for the maximum communication in our dance circles. Yes, I am applying for the job, free of charge.

I have always chosen this blog because has always it had the highest average per hits of any of blogs. Now I no can handle because of my failing health. I will reduce my entries to one every six days. The other Guest Authors can always do as they please as they have always done.
We have two administrators so a good Guest Author can certainly become an administrator and invite other Guest Authors. Otherwise it will die on the vine. And I will be very busy with other blogs. So it will be short and sweet. I know now what I am doing in blogging and it has nothing to do with Web Sites. We just don't have the same reader/dancers.

The Dance Scene on Oahu
It is evolving very nicely and the dancers in Hawaii take good advantage of the holidays. Happy Valentine's Day everyone. The outskirts still going slowly but that is to be expected. Just Tacos And More in Waianae has live music on Wednesdays and Thursdays. And Cholo's Homestyle on the North Shore has Salsa. Waianae is overdue for some Bachata,
Our blogosphere is at a plateau. I started the week badly and had to go to Emergency at Tripler. Nine hours and tough getting home. I have pulled back the offerings to level 5, which is every fifth day for each blog. And I hope to leave it that way to at least April. I will know more by then. Our dance friends of all ages enjoy sharing stories of their daily fun activities, especially with other friends that are far away and cannot experience it.
Years ago Pen Pals were a tradition known to help form friendships between two people. Now many people are doing it just blogging specially on Oahu. And it is so simple, no commitments and you blog whenever you damn well please. And you have a ready made audience of dancers. Though it is quite apparent that our audience is definitely in the over 30 age bracket and we can adjust to that very nicely in our blogging.
Most social dance clubs, because of the Palladium connection, build up memberships during the 90s, that were double the membership they have at present. And of course, the new clubs diluted the membership available. Many are still holding on by a hair. Everyone always knew who were the top five, but now there have been some changes. One in the top five is no more and another has taken its place. And with the West and the North Shore moving into contention, the days of dancing at the Palladium will not be the same.

The Oahu Night Club Scene
Oahu nightlife is as lively and varied as everything else the island has to offer. All tastes are catered for, from gentle supper clubs with floor shows and loud, brash nightclubs to ritzy piano bars, rustic disco-bars and bars specializing in traditional Pacific Island music. And since traffic is due to get worse, the outskirts are looking better all the time.
Bar-hopping is done but very little since most of the dancers have a place to go and have fun and that's it. And the traffic is something else. Crime in the Honolulu is another consideration after dark. But pickpockets are few in crowded nightlife areas where wallets and bags are usually well guarded.
Honolulu's rich cultural heritage boasts a colorful artisan tradition, from the vibrant based on the Hawaiian music and dance of long ago. A strong legacy of music and literature spans a couple centuries, styles and genres from the various ethnic groups and graffiti maestros to Hawaii's classic romantics. Perhaps the most typical Hawaiian music and dance is the hula, which is still enjoyed by many.
The biggest attraction is the live music, even though all Hawaii Dancers can and do enjoy music by DJs, but if they have a preference, shouldn't they get it? Many of our best singers have passed on but there are many more coming up now. As dancers, all we have to do is find out where they are playing the oldies but goodies. Dat's Da Kine. Those are the classics and we can dance them in sheer joy time after time.
