I read this in the past week while I was going through my physical and mental distortion called depression. It is mainly that I live in a new place and I know no one. And I cannot get around much anymore. So I going stir crazy. Then I found myself in Tripler Hospital for a stay of two weeks. I am regaining my old strength back.

I am making an agonizing reappraisal of my blogosphere and it is not too bad. Town Dancer, the blog is now becoming one of the gang instead of being way out in front.  Blogging Hawaii and Platinum Horseshoe got the best chances of getting into first place with just one good steady information contributor.

The different points of view in our blogs is what make the interest not the SOS that I write. Look at all Web sites, dancing or others,they are not to be read everyday. One like Dance Fever Oahu usually has update information on many events. And Frank is doing a good job of getting information to convey to the readers. Those are up at the top.

"Take Chances, Dance More Dances." 

 

The thing to do, it seems to me, is to prepare yourself so you can be a rainbow in somebody else's cloud. Somebody who may not look like you. May not call God the same name you call God - if they call God at all. I may not dance your dances or speak your language. But be a blessing to somebody. That's what I think.

Two Weeks in the Hospital

All the blogs lost hits in the two weeks I was gone except that Dancing Nights did not lose so many. Richie Fun of course was the answer. He has Information Contributors and he is willing to share this information with our fellow dancers. Divino Ritmo Studio is rapidly headed for the number one spot in the Islands. Blogging on Franks blogs too.

If there is a little Live Music on Oahu that you recommend, let us know.

So for sure, one more steady Guest Author and a few Information Contributors will send the hits going through the roof. If we have enough information to share we will have the readers interested. Photos, of course, are a bonus and the right ones are at a premium. Two dancers in the photo are better than one. Three are better than two and Four are better than three. Why, because it represents a fun group. This is Social Media and  the more the merrier.

Meanwhile, Dancing in the Dark is developing as a sort of weekly recap for all the blogs in our Hawaii Blogosphere and is phasing into more. It is holding up very well in the hits and I expect that it will get rolling by next month. I should have all of them posting at a steady pace and the hits will tell us the story. So far, Town Dancer has been the one to have dropped more than the others.

Home, Sweet, Home

I am back from Tripler after two weeks and I feel pretty good. They just advised me to keep my medications up and to rest. The swelling on my infected foot is coming down. I spend at least half a day in applying all my medications but I can avoid a care home. They will set me up with the Handy Van so that I can go to the VA or Tripler easily and more often without the hassle of the buses and the schedules. I will be just fine on the Island of Oahu.

Not many people at Tripler know what a blog is, very few read any blogs. And they all think somebody is making some money somewhere. It happens on Oahu and even on the mainland, and everyone has to have a Web site for the appearance of class. Social Media is nothing new, it has been evolving for several years now. Just that most are not that much aware of the value of Blogging especially on Oahu.

This will take some time, I know, but when we get these blogs going on this island of Oahu, they will be better than Facebook or Twitter for the specific needs of our dance scene. Town Dancer used to be way ahead in dancing communication on this Island but now slowing down. We must accept, for we cannot push anyone that shows no inclination to accept it. I have heard the statement, "You are making millions on my good looks, talent, fame and good fortune." -They simply do not know!

The Black men are definitely for Nite Clubs with a marked preference for "white meat." Whatever, - the black woman seems to be out with them. Many will get friendly with islander women but that is definitely not their preference. Apparently their ideal is the blue eyed, blond.

Many potential dancers will talk about the clubs in town but the same complaint is there for most people interested in dancing to enjoy an evening. The Traffic and everyone knows that it is going to get worse when the Rail Disaster is in. So a few places in the outskirts are developing slowly. They just have to communicate to more dancers and let them know.

The Studio Night Club scene is developing very well at Divino Ritmo Studio. You can read all about in Richie Fun Blogs in the Dancing Nights blog. With a little more information contributors, the hits on that blog will go through the roof.

I am back home and feeling just fine. Yesterday just showered, cleaned out the refrigerator and I rearranged a few things and rested. I had a very good night's sleep and ready to go this morning. I will get this out and then have breakfast.

Apparently social dancing is going on full blast on the island of Oahu From the news at Tripler Hospital, there are quite few military interested but seems to be mostly in Night Club social dance, which they seem to believe is different than the dancing done by our local social dancers. If they learn in classes at all it is a special dance and not not much of the universal moves of all the dancers.

One of the most basic being the rock step which is used in about 500 different current dances. The next of course is the chassé and fortunately most local social dancers are well aware of this. How about the Rumba? Cha Cha  Cha, Samba? And so on. The most interesting of all when you get into it is the cross body lead. Usually taught in Rumba, Mambo and Salsa on Oahu. Can be done in hundreds of dances.  In Waltz too? I see it about once a year and looks beautiful.
