But most dancers are aware that we need a place to dance in the West, not in town. And half the size of the famous Palladium would be more than adequate for our kind of social dancing.

Most residents of West Oahu think somewhat different that the people in town. The ones in town think about the benefit of those in town, naturally. The Rail Catastrophe was not for the people in the West, it was for those in downtown Honolulu. But the West is waking up, and they will no longer be conned by the rich and famous. And their paid minions, plenty there with sun burned palms.

Fortunately, I am starting to make contact again with the neighbor islands and perhaps this time there will be some people that will not be thinking so damn local. Then I can get ever more diverse opinions to establish a better enjoyment of the dance in the entire islands. And we will get to know each other better, Some day when we have a ferry, we can all drive to the neighbor islands, visit all the places and dance with all the fine dancers on these islands.

I don't know, some say we can stop it sooner.

Until that time, we shall continue to live in the 20th century. "Let's Keep The Country, Country" This was coined by Downtown Honolulu. It may take us another decade before people realize that they were hoodwinked. We also have to put up with the Rail Crisis until we tear it down.

New Blog?

The new blog, Town Dancer is in and showing flickers of movement already. It has always been amazing even when it got all screwed up by the scam spam robot hits. They took over the hits completely and screwed everything else up. No hope but to eventually delete it after all these years. Blogger couldn't care less. "No bodder dem!"

The ability of readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important contribution to the popularity of many blogs. Though our readers are not much users of this. Most blogs are primarily textual, although some focus on art (art blogs), photographs (photoblogs), videos (video blogs or "vlogs"), music (MP3 blogs), and audio (podcasts).

Fortunately, dance blogs have never been defined and we have developed the text and graphics/photos in a nice mix. Though we certainly could use more photos in the every day blogging. The legit hits are there. And we will see that in action in a week or so when Calvin post his blog on the Aloha Ball in Kona. That one will knock your eyes out. He is not known as Mr. Blogger in Hawaii for nuttin'.

Town Dancer

I don't know what I am doing? I am aware of that. I had to stop using the original Town Dancer, the scam spam robots were just overwhelming the stats. Blogger programmers are completely in the dark. Since Dance Waimanalo was the smallest blog we have according to hits, this was an easy choice and there may have been some dilution of the readership, so this helps.

So I shall try this and the other blog remains right where it's at. I want to see what happens to the scam spam robots when they see nothing there. Of course, maybe they don't see anything anyway. I will probably delete the blog for at least a couple weeks and see if that works. I have two months to reinstate any blog that is deleted. And I have plenty of information in the blog for possible recycling into the rest of the blogs.

I have to do something to get Calvin to blog the Aloha Ball Competition in Kona on the Big Island. He ain't Mr. Blogger in Hawaii for nuttin'.Would be a terrific start for this blog. Starting over again. Auwe! Then I hope I can convince Richard to switch. Maybe I can get another Guest Author too and the legit hits will again go through the roof.

Waianae Coming To The Forefront

The sparks of action are getting better all the time on the Waianae Coast and people are waking up. Waianae Mall doing just fine in Facebook. I wish they would get a few items in this blog. Patience. Thanks for the suggestion like in the bottom photo. Hey, Hey.

But the West is rising, Kapolei will be second city in spite of the Present Rail Party. And perhaps some of us in Waianae can attend Kapolei functions. Of course, we all are aware of the faults in Farrington Highway which cannot be fixed because the money desperately needed for the seven billion dollar choo choo train.

And then there is the new Nanakuli Library, that will be built next year and Nanakuli is coming to its own. The shopping center will be enlarged and more jobs will be there. Minimum wage in Nanakuli is still worth ten times what it is worth in Honolulu. "And I can spend a little time with my family."

The neighborhood board of Honokai Hale, Kapolei and Makakilo has got to have some of most akamai people on this Island. Look how they voted on the choo choo train. We got people getting smarter every day on Da Coast. Honolulu has been riding this Coast into the ground for too long.

In a Town Night Club: He watched her as the music ended and he told her, "Those were pretty nice moves in your dancing." She replied, "Who's dancing? Where is the ladies restroom?"

It's Not Good

My latest hit analysis shows Town Dancer at an average of 27 hits per day. From over one hundred per day down to this. The top four and overwhelming hitters are all scam spam robots and all ending in RU (stands for Russia.)

I advised the Guest Authors to shift over to another blog but they ignored me. They should do as they please. Meanwhile, I would like anyone to make contact with any of the other blogs. Become a Two Center and perhaps even a Guest Author.

At the top is Platinum Horseshoe in the fifties in average hits per day. Second is Blogging Hawaii in the thirties and third is Moanalua Corridor in the upper twenty hits per day. Those are the top blogs, the others are too new and in the teens but one good Two Center or Guest Author would get them over the thirties hit barrier.

Enjoy the challenge of learning new things and enjoy the stimulation of competition (if that appeals to you.) Learn more about the various dances and forms of dancing and learn where to go to get started dancing. All of our blogs are here to help, to share with our friends, relatives, neighbors and fellow dancers. There are many others that are willing to help in their own way.

Just Fine

These blogs are going through an adjustment because of the losing hits on Town Dancer and the scam spam robots using the blog for whatever their reason. It is possible that I may have to delete it. Blogger programmers don't have a clue and couldn't care less. I keep getting advice to transfer to Word Press.

The Argentine Tango Dancers have such a nice thing going and the only negative is their "Rootzi Tootzi attitude." They dance an "art that could possibly be da reel teeng," so that makes them think they are unique in the dance world. And you must never mention whorehouse music in the same sentence with Tango. More down to earth are the American Tango and Filipino Tango dancers which have integrated very nicely with the regular social dance setting.

Then we have the beginners, and in the clubs there are many "street" dancers which was the old term. Now it is more "club" dancers and many of them start too fast and too fancy, with the usual results. Not so good. If you can do the bounce and feel comfortable moving with your favorite music then you must learn to move the feet. You will realize that the bounce with your feet together is your basic.

And all partner social dances have a basic. Some have two, or three and even four which of course screws them all up. With a basic you will find yourself going this way and that way and come back to basic. It is home base. So in the regular bounce you must learn to put out your left foot wherever you wish and bounce one, two or three times, according to the way the music makes you feel. You must also learn how to do this with the right foot. Just about anyone can give you feedback on this and you will be on your way.

Line dancing is the recommended starting point for official instruction. You learn to enjoy the same music that in enjoyed in social dancing. You learn movements that are used in social dancing. And what is more important is you will develop your own unique style according to the rhythm and music that you hear. And you do not have to worry about leading a partner yet.
