I am making some connections but my physical disabilities prevent me from doing much. This blog is truly amazing, not much there because it is mostly me, yet it keeps up ahead of the others. That is about as far as I can go by myself. One more good independent and unique opinion would see wonders in this blog. Each Guest Blogger should be worth over 20 to 30 average hits per day. Not to even mention the good photos that the reader/dancers would be glad to see. So email them in, along with whatever else you want in. This blog is for the reader/dancers of Oahu. We may see less of the "To Whom It May Concern" kind and perhaps half of every blog in Feedback from our fellow dancers.
Waikiki is jumping all over with plenty of hot places to enjoy. But there is something doing in town too and some is spreading over into Kalihi. The Rail Tragedy has slow things in the corridor up to Waipahu. But Kapolei all the way up to Makaha is wide open. The Central Valley proceeding nicely. And then there is North Shore and what slowed them down was the veto of a new housing development because it would also attract a Business Park. The Fat Cats in Honolulu want everyone to deal with them. The Trump mottos. "It's the bread, Fred. - It's the dough, Moe."
Social Dance on Oahu is proceeding along the same lines except that in this century, there is a much bigger acceptance that the day of the Big Bands and the Big Ballrooms is over. Most Community Centers have rooms that are nice but they could be a little larger. The right size I would not know but the teachers of dancing on Oahu would certainly have an idea. Probably about one third the size of the famous Palladium. Rome was not built in a day.
“Social dancers become dancers because they loved moving to music but
they also got to be active participants in the conversation about dance.”
