The Good Old Days. Bits from an old blog

Date - Saturday May 18, 2019, Time: 6:00 - 9:30 pm Place: Palladium - Ala Wai Golf Course Clubhouse 2nd floor Theme Colors: Gold, Silver, Copper

From Deanie Bates: It's Aiea Ballroom's 64th Anniversary. Aiea is the very first ballroom club in Hawaii - that includes all the islands. We were founded in 1955 - before statehood. A number of our members and past presidents started other clubs. Aiea Ballroom has enjoyed good dance times, growing pains, and many friends over the years not only with our own members but with all the other ballroom clubs and a Swing Dance Club. Partnered dancing is just the best exercise for mind, body and soul. Can't beat it. Our program will be simple - introductions, thank yous, about 20 door prizes, some good half-time food but mostly, lots of dancing.

Many in Hawaii do not know that it is not over until it is over. People are still dying every day because we do not know that it is not over. This pandemic will end sooner in certain places but overall, it will go well into next year because much of the Islands have not been vaccinated yet, Vaccines are making a difference. However variants are coming in and we may be assured on Oahu that they do not come from Waianae. TOURISTS. And we expect more tourists. We must not give a false sense to the residents that the whole thing is over and Keep away from Trumpanzees, they are very likely to be contaminated.

"If we are doing our best, we won't have any time to worry about failure."
