Holding Steady

We begin the new year feeling fresh. The hit analysis went pretty good, Town Dance and Platinum Horseshoe with the most average hits per day. At the bottom were Extrava Danza and Latin Rhythms. But we will not see real results before the tenth of this month. And of course, our Information Contributors will make the decisions.

"Truth may be a very expensive gift.
Don't expect it from cheap people."

Excerpt from Consumer Reports on Facebook: Facebook publishes privacy policies like other companies do, but as a private corporation, it needn't file the annual reports and other disclosures required of publicly held firms such as Microsoft and Google, which can provide even more information about a company. Whatever the company's obligations, Senator Franken told us, "Facebook needs to make its users' privacy a top priority."

"Protect yourself - Be social but safe."

We are making  plenty of contact with the Mainland on blogging and the new way of getting information from and to the readers. They agree that it may get most of the information to display  from the readers themselves, in commentaries and as plain everyday information contributors. The big question in all this is, how will social media continue to evolve?

"Most of the world's people must walk at least 3 hours
just to get water!"

Many are leaning heavily in the direction of saving journalism. In 2010, the FTC released its “Potential Policy Recommendations to Support the Reinvention of Journalism,” which was received with much criticism. Speaking about the report, Adam Thierer, a senior research fellow with the Technology Policy Project at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University, said that the report was a “welcome relief.” He said, “It shied away from the more extreme types of proposals that we had heard some academics put out there in the past.”
