The Tale of the Tails
By Ron Kosaka, Kapolei
The undisputed king of all male civilian garments is the evening tail-suit. Its long tails confer dignity, while its starched white expanse of pique waistcoat, shirt and tie flatters even the roundest of face and plumpest of figure. Not in Hawaii, of course.

"Music is the shorthand of emotion." ~ Leo Tolstoy

First called a riding coat, very little about the evening tailcoat has changed in the last two hundred years. Its major alteration occurred when the double-breasted model was altered, removing the B-Hone in the front. Thus the single-breasted cutaway was born and endures today.

A tailor-cutter competition, held in 1929 to establish the dress style that most suited the average man, has endured. If you are going into International Dance Style and Competitions you may as well buy it. Seventy-five years later, the style perseveres.

From the Dance World

Dancing motivates and fulfills your social goals and reinforces positive concepts. Learning new steps stimulates thinking and gives you a sense of mastery and ego esteem. Changing partners is part of the social purpose. This keeps one learning faster and should give you confidence to dance with anyone not just one partner.

"To teach is to learn twice."
