Steel wheels on steel rails represents a means of moving masses of people in and out of urban Honolulu, but it is also the loudest, according to a city-appointed panel of experts. Steel-on-steel technology is going to be a big problem for some residents near the elevated tracks, where trains will pass at up to 55 mph about 360 times a day from 4 a.m. to midnight.
The biggest noise impact would be along Salt Lake Boulevard, though neighbors along Farrington and Kamehameha highways and Dillingham Boulevard are very likely to be affected, according to a city consultant. So any new dance clubs and in fact any new business must try to get three or four blocks away from that din, if possible.
Meanwhile our blog is here to help whoever we can. Just watch what is happening in the Platinum Horseshoe blog. Everyone is planning a work around the Rail Crisis and the beach area Kalealoa is coming up to the forefront. Got a few bars and now even a new HBDA Ewa Beach Chapter. Things going like a house afire.
