What's Doin'?

As per usual, we don't hear much about about dancing in the East. Each party has their own private communications but of course, there is nothing like blogging. As in most of Oahu, few people are aware of what blogging can do for the dance community as a whole. Look at what a great job Frank does with his two blogs, for so many. And there are at least three blogs doing a terrific job for the night club circuit. Blogs are it.

"At some point in time we just have to let go of what we thought
should happen and live in what is happening."

Kailua Movement Studio is now under new ownership as Arthur Murray Movement Studio. They are located at the corner of Kainehe and Kailua Rd. And their address is 776 Kailua Road 2nd Floor. (Across from Kalapawai market.) It is the only Professional Dance Studio in the East. But they have their own Web site and we all know how that works.

There is another Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Town and there could be a Fred Astaire Studio in Kapolei. However Fred Astaire people are simply not interested. We should respect. The Dance Studios in town are doing very well and of course some will be doing better than others.

The upcoming Hawaii Star Ball will do a lot of decision making when it is established as to who has developed the best International Style dancers on this Island. Competition is the name of their game. The blogs may or may not have a field day.

Pub's Side Note: In Hawaii, dance blogs are enabling hundreds of dancers to express their opinions with reduced political risk simply because of the sheer number of like-minded opinions online. Facing these independent voices, the old clique machine starts to crumble.
