Falling Down

I fell down twice and fortunately got well patched up at the VA and I am now using a walker. They have me in physical therapy and I am learning very nicely. They also got me a cane that I can use for short distances for now. Hopefully I can wean myself out of the walker and just use the cane. Perhaps, (I can hope) I may dance again. It will take time.

If you are going through hell - keep going, you'll come out of it."

Chances are you know of a dancer who has been critically injured or has died from falling. Each year according to the State Department of Health, 85 seniors (65 and older) in Hawaii die. 1,960 more will be hospitalized and 8,700 are treated at emergency services - all as the result of falls. All I can say is "watch it, be careful!"

Meanwhile I hope to find a Two Center for the information needed to share with our reader/dancers of the Moanalua Corridor. With regularity of local dance action, the hits will go through the roof. Many years ago, in the limelight, were the Aiea Ballroom Dance Club and Wahiawa Ballroom Dance Club. They were the prime source of dance action, but no more. They have their own Public Relations set up and we must find the ones that can use our help.

We will continue to do the best we can for the entire Corridor. We never did find out what happened to the Kapiolani Ballroom Dance Club. They had dance classes at the Newtown Recreation Center. Line Dancing is practically unknown here as far as we know. Just give us E for Effort, we try.
