Specialty Dances

We all are aware of our terrific exhibition dancers, and we all appreciate their efforts at every occasion. Of course we are not all aware of our good competition dancers and we are due to have more Competition dancing in Hawaii. They had the first one on the Big Island a few months ago. But there are others for the classier dancers.

Theatrical Dancing is an adjective, of or relating to the theater behaving or done in a way that is meant to attract attention and that is often not genuine or sincere. It's show business but there is also Theatrical Competition Dancing. And some of their theatrical gestures are marked by extravagant displays or exhibitionism and may occur on our dance floors and accepted with pleasure by the audiences.

Some of our presentations border on this, which is very nice, just to be a little different than what we see every day. Though some of our "folk" dances have a different attraction because they have our friends, neighbors, relatives and fellow dancers performing. In a Theater it may be the presentation of plays in a theatrical costume  marked by pretense or artificiality of emotion. I have not found a real difference with Caberet Dancing yet.

I live in special housing for Seniors, 30% of income for Rent, not bad. However, just got the bad news from the Apt. Manager, if something happens to me they lock down the apartment and no one can touch it. All my belongings may be lost and require many legal aspects. So I am working on getting rid of most of them as soon as possible and see what I can do with the ones I use on a daily basis.I have a bunch of new printer cartridges for a 2040 printer, (can fit others.) For free just come pick it up or have a friend pick it up.
