Things Looking Better

Just got the good news from the VA, my application for housing in Wahiawa has been made, - nine to ten months waiting list. The good thing is I can get the #52 bus and get to the Kalihi Transit Center in 20 minutes, and the Tripler bus is 15 minutes from there. Not an all day deal like from where I live in Nanakuli and that is due to get worse when the "Rapid Transit" gets in. Terrible.

"We may have too many flaws to be perfect but we may have too many blessings to be ungrateful."

All my VHS tapes gone, all my DVDs gone and I have a dozen CDs left. I also know many dancers in the Wahiawa area, so perhaps I may persuade some to be Two Centers or Guest Authors in any of our blogs. I may have enough time just to get more readers. And with more readers you get more contributors of information too. The entire thing just grows. However now advertising in invading these blog with whose permission? Not mine, I thought this was my blog.

"Music, Music, Music" by Theresa Brewer

I’ve been thinking a lot to the purpose of music lately. I started reflecting on what music means to me and the difference in what it means to other people. This role changes in different moments in life, but it’s a good reminder as to how people relate to music. There are many that were taught to "listen" to music without moving to it.

What does music mean to you? Most responses are very mature with very observant answers. I think music can be so hard to describe and define, but it’s easy to describe how it affects us. It really shows the importance music plays in our lives. For some people music is the most important thing in their life. For others it’s one of the ways they express their emotions.

Some of these responses are not really good. Making music your world isn’t necessarily a good thing. I’m not questioning the moral values one places on music, but on the importance music plays on society and the individual. Perhaps we could teach how important music is to our culture. It makes it exciting to be blogging, while at the same time gives us a responsibility to show the benefits of music in our lives.
