Terrific experience, the invite from the Wahiawa Ballroom Dance Club. allowing me to blog up a storm. I am not physically up to par but with a little help I can blog'em. I have "fumbleitis" of the hands and have difficulty taking photos. Wow, the kokua I have received is unbelievable. Just look at all the photos in my blogs from all these people willing to help. We are for the dancers.
The elite at the top of our social dance strata almost invariably find themselves in a position of leadership, whether it is expected or volunteered, and often subjects the holders of the elite status to pressure and maintain that leadership position as part of the status. And yet very few of them on our Oahu dance world really know much about "social dancing." With blogs we can expect the dancers to take back some control and it will only be with the new blood on Oahu. West Oahu may lead the way, for this section of the Island is wide open for a new dance structure.
The North Shore has some dancing but no one connected to our blogs knows much about these. Most of our dancers are connected to the area from the Stadium to Kapolei, And many still believe in what the downtown Honolulu wheeler dealers used to say, "keep the country, country." Many have preferred to attend in town where supposedly they have Da Reel Teeng. Then most are well educated and understand paying for a Web site is understandable. But they are still wondering about a blog. Blogs must be making it somewhere. This will take time. A counter? Wot dat?
"Social dancers feel every detail of the music, it's like there is something in them
that responds to the sound in a way that only they can."

"Wahiawa Ballroom is always fun. Their New Year's ball was one to cherish. The
members are very friendly and welcoming. Dancing is life and life is a dance.
So let's keep on dancing." ~ Charito and Leo Delgado.
