Dis N Dat

The Boston Tea Party was a protest by colonists who objected to a British tax on tea in 1773. Some say that the Tea in "Tea Party" also stands for "Taxed Enough Already." It eventually led to the American Revolutionary War. Anyway, these protests by lower classes paying to the rich, have been made for centuries. How about the Magna Carta against King John? OK, so Trump is not King John, but it is still the Money, Sonny.

Barack and Sarah, Cha Cha Cha
For content contributors, the benefits of participating in social media have gone beyond simply social sharing to building reputation and bringing in career opportunities and monetary income. And at the moment, for us on Oahu, we have two very important elements in the equation. The "Two Center" and the "Guest Blogger" and not very many out are quite knowledgeable on both terms. When the reader/dancers on this Island discover what they can do, there will be no stopping them. Take your time and think it over.

"Music of Hawaii" by Melveen Leed

Double Blues: Old Swing Dance step of Hawaii, with a chassé that syncopates the 4 count, 1, 2, 3 and 4. Sometime used in Cha Cha Cha as an unnatural step rhythm. Thirty years ago, danced by some of the best dancers on our dance floors, now becoming obsolete.

"Maui Waltz" by Loyal Garner

Double Hold: In the Latin Challenge position, the partners facing each other and holding hands. May also be used in Swing. Down Beat: The first beat in a measure and it comes from the downward movement of the conductors arm or baton in beginning a tune. Draw: To slowly move the free foot to the supporting foot without a change of weight. Dual Fellow: That rare person who has attained fellowship from the ISTD in both Latin and Ballroom Divisions.

“Social dancers think that maybe we hope too much. Maybe we dream too much,
but we are not going to stop."
