Hawaii health officials reported 18 new cases of COVID-19 on Oahu on Thursday. There are now 10 cases at Hale Nani, the state’s largest nursing care facility, including two staff members, according to the Department of Health. One of the 18 cases reported Thursday was someone working at the state Capitol, according to state officials. This spike in cases and other recent daily spikes have been expected as people begin to move around more freely and more businesses are reopening, Health officials said Hale Nani has implemented aggressive infection control measures and was conducting repeat testing.
