Absolute Joy

JM's is under new ownership and has more plush sink into sofas and new tables n chairs in the back w/a spiffed up look. The front parking is all for JM's!

They are still in the soft opening stage, doors opened @ 7 PM. No entertainment calendar as yet but they post stuff on their Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/jazzminds.hnl

They are closed Sunday but offer great  live music the rest of the week. 

 

We attended the debut performance of "Absolute Joy" last Tuesday. They have been around for about 10 years and are amazing. Original members Joy Waikoloa, Arex Ikehara Bass, Aron Nelson guitar and Tod Yukimoto sax were accompanied by a solid Keyboard player and Conrad (Kent?) drummer plays w/Henry Kapono.  All in all monster musicians who are 2nd to none.

 

Got there @ 7:30 and got a seat close to the floor. There was a $7 cover.

Absolute Joy started @ 8:30. If you haven't heard "Absolute Joy" the band you are in for a treat.

As if dancing to AJ wasn't incredible enough for the 2nd set Sunway and Dana Land got up and sang!!!! What a treat!

They played Sambas, ECS/WCS, Cha cha, NC2S, Rumba etc. Best music/dance we've had in awhile.

Hoping they get their calendar up soon and AJ gets regular gigs there.
