So What Snew?

“Reasonable people adapt themselves to the world: Unreasonable people persist
in trying to adapt the world to themselves. Therefore, all progress
depends on the unreasonable people. Anybody don't dig that?”

Yes, I just saw it in a Night Club. A couple of good dancers, (not the best) but good enough to enjoy a good dance on a night club dance floor. It was a Rumba and the man was using the Rock Step and Slow step, and since the band was on the one beat, he would break on the one. Not bad, nice and easy.

Then something happened, he changed the rock step, stepping forward on his left foot. he then rocked to his right on his right foot and brought up his left foot to right.  Then he stepped back on his right foot, left foot to the left and and then brought his right foot up to his left. Hey, that is a Fred Astaire Rumba Basic Box Step, done in the quick, quick, slow. And the lady followed him just easy as pie. But then we are lucky that we have some of the best lady followers on the planet right here on Oahu.

"Change is not necessarily good or bad. It's just the way of things.
Nothing stays the same."

In Central America, many who have good rhythm for playing drum beats, can do tricks with their hands to music and all the while keeping up a nice varied beat. Real drums are hard to come by but card board boxes are somewhat easier and easily discarded too. Sort of like rap without words but you can sure get a good drum sound from a card board box.

Not to be denied a place in the sun, the neighbor islands are just beginning to make contact with us. The control seems to be in their Web people and they want it all for themselves. We know they have the dancers, and music is essential, they just could communicate to the rest of Neighbor Islands and we could all be friends.

It is so nice that we are gradually getting more information from outside Oahu, for the good of everyone and we are interested mainly in the reader/dancers. Can we share dancing news with each other?
