There is hope

Apparently not all the dancers in East Honolulu are tied irrevocably with downtown. There has been some interest in dancing in the East. They have a couple of good dance studios though we don't know where and there has been interest in social dance classes in schools and community centers. So they have needed a little more publicity? We are willing to help.

"Motivation may be the art of getting people to do what you
want them to do because they want to do it."

Of course, most of the dancers are social dancers and not that interested in exhibition or competition dancing, nothing strange about that. Most of the dancers in our entire dance world are just social dancers and enjoy moving to music. And most of us are also certain that many of the existing social dancers could with time become proficient enough to go for exhibitions and even competitions.

Just make sure they get their basics, which are not stressed enough in professional circles. And we have the existence of LAGS. The Latest And Greatest Syndrome. A simple collusion between the student and the dance instructor to get them on the dance floor with the latest gimmick that looks flashy and calls attention from their fellow dancers.

There is still a chance of a good dance club in the East and they can certainly get a good group together. Dance Hawaii had a good class program set up but not enough publicity. Patience. Anything to avoid the terrible traffic in town. that is due to get worse.
