There seems to be few dancers that can see the need for a place to dance in this area. The traffic in Honolulu is very bad and due to get worse when the Rail Disaster is in. There are many places to dance in town and the only reason they are losing people is because of the traffic on Kalakaua. On Saturday night, Wow! - it is worse than Los Angeles,
"We do not have to wait; the time will never be 'just right.' We must start where
we stand, and work with whatever tools we may have at our command,
and know full well that better tools will be found as we go along."
So what can we, as citizens of this community do to help? Yes, we just need a place to dance and we mean in West Honolulu. You gotta go downtown - fine with us. But the outskirts are wanting more independence from the Fat Cats in town. Nobody wants another Rail Catastrophe in their back yard. Auwe.
"Green Eyes" by Jimmy Dorsey
Perhaps even the first Latin dance club in Hawaii. Latin Waltzes (two of them,) Rumba, (naturally,) Cha Cha Cha (a must.) Also there is Samba, Tango and even Mambo. Most of the social dances of the last century. Anyway, there is enough variety there to please most social dancers. If they want to throw in Fox Trot, why not? Perhaps the two dance studios in the vicinity could help.
