Yes I have heard not to send your children to schools on the Waianae Coast. Some believe that they are the worst schools in the state. Mind you, they even think that our public school system is like 49th worst in the US. And please don't be fooled (as I was) and think that just because they are in the US that they can't be that bad. So you should also include schools in your researching!

And watch what the Fat Cats in Honolulu are doing with the Rail Disaster. I don't love the traffic and in many places on this Island of Oahu, there is only one road in and out. And they are always doing road construction, or an accident or something else so that part does get pretty bad. Does it tell you something? But hey, I guess you have to make sacrifices somewhere. He He.

But what does that outburst have to do with dancing? - Not one single,

solitary damn thing.

Most of us are understanding that the "correct" way to dance has been established without any qualifications. This has been followed by the term "Junk" dancer applied to those that did not dance "correctly." And of course this sent even more people outta theah. But the good news is that more dancers are becoming aware of the entire enchilada. Take a look around you and you can see our dancing scene is taking on a nice social attitude.

What was once a process of sending snail-mail letters to distant friends and communicating with Pen Pals has become a much more visual and therefore a more exciting activity. Twitter and Facebook have led the way. But unfortunately for us on Oahu, it is world wide. And we are interested in our fellow dancers on this island and perhaps the neighbor islands too. A Blog is different?

The blog as Social Media was invented just for us. It has opened doors to providing a much more interpersonal experience with our fellow dancers no matter where they live and dance in our Hawaiian Islands. Then too, pictures are a great way to express what words often can't. By attaching pictures of friends dancing at a new place your fellow dancers will be able to visually see what your stories can only tell them. It will take us a while to communicate all of this with our fellow dancers but we are not going to stop now.
