The Night Club Scene

Honolulu’s nightlife scene has undergone a number of changes in the last year. And most of the going places have plenty of Internet access. Web sites and the micros, Twitter, Facebook and Google Plus. Of course no one realizes that those things are really big stuff. And if together they get one billion photos per day, they are not going to miss the one you were going send yesterday.

"Life is 10 per cent of what happens to us, and 90 per cent
of how we react to it."

However blogs are a horse of a different color. Our blogs are local and this particular one covers the dance scene on Oahu. Being new we are beginning to make more contact with locations in the West. Is that a bad word. Hey, this is real social media. This is where we connect with our friends, neighbors, relatives and fellow dancers.

There have been many nightclubs in town that have successfully drawn club goers out of their comfort zone on to wherever they are. And many former dive bars have been developed into a multi-room party spots and plenty of action. But eventually there is competition and the available customers are over diluted.

The traffic in town is getting pretty bad and with the advent of the Rail Disaster it is due to get worse. We know that the Buses are going to go to pot, to preserve the Rail Catastrophe. The evidence mounts daily but only the few users of public transportation are aware of this. And everyone is aware that it's the bread, Fred. Billions and Billions of dollars in profits for the Fat Cats in the Ivory Towers of Honolulu.

Chinatown is starting to pop again, they are drawing crowds of people looking for a place to dance and they are getting some of the city’s top DJs to keep their parties moving. And there is some evidence of interest in Kalihi now that the Rail Corridor is slated for the new slum area of Honolulu. And of course, that gives us the entire West Oahu that is just waiting for the right people to build something good for those that want to live, work and play in their own kuleana.
