Just completed Part One in the Social Dance Oahu blog, of the shindig in Wahiawa. Whatta blast, terrific people, beautiful music and great food. Was anyone dancing? That was the name of the game. I blogged Social Dance Oahu yesterday and I had enough photos to blog some more on this blog. Perhaps next time I will have enough photos for three blogs.
Number Four:
Wishing you happiness and friendships as we celebrate 50 years of dance.

Social Dancing such as ours isn’t an art form like writing or sketching where people can do it alone – it’s something they do with and in front of other people. And because it’s a social activity, there is a base level of ability that’s expected of us. Yet no one actually teaches us how to dance at a social gathering such as ours. You’re supposed to just know how to do it. Let's face it, we do a pretty good job of it.
Number Five:
Dance is a wondrous experience that brings out beauty and friendship.

It looking like about 36 photos is just about right for a dance function social. Two or three opinions and a paragraph of review and I can fill in the rest. Our best test dance club has been Wahiawa Ballroom Dance Club and with good reason. So many good people willing to share with their fellow dancers.
Not many can remember the days of the Big Bands. It was a name applied to large orchestras that were popular just prior to and after WWII. Could have three rows of musicians and six to nine in each row. Wow! Those days of the Big Bands and Big Ballrooms are gone forever. Can we still have fun social dancing? You can betcha life on that.
