What is West Oahu?

Wahiawa Ballroom Dance Club and Aiea Ballroom Dance Association have established themselves firmly in the dance scene in West Oahu. There are others and we are hoping to make contact with them soon. We need each other, but not if they don't know it. There are approximately 40 thousand ballroom dancers on Oahu. No, I have not counted them. And at least half of them reside outside of Honolulu. Proof? I have none, You got a different amount, I will not argue with you.

"Our good dancers can perform for an audience and the goal is to evoke
a response. Dance becomes another way of communicating.
A dance like ours could express something specific."

So it is very likely that we will have something going on the Waianae Coast and on the North Shore. Kapolei is lost because of losing as second city with the Rail Tragedy. However it looks like the Central Valley will be first. I live in Mililani now so my projections are Mililani or Waipio. Either a new Social Dance Club or a nice Social Dance Night Club. Just Tacos in Mililani closed, they tried music which was very good but the dance floor was not there. All I can say is that some of us know and some of us don't give a damn. To each his own.

Aiea Anniversary Dance at the Palladium
That still was beautiful celebration of dancing by Aiea Ballroom Dance Association on Saturday in town. I wish I could have stayed later. And I am glad the Frank got some good photos when he got there which about the time I had to leave. Take a look - see, in his blogs. You might enjoy. Anyway we try to share the dance information with our fellow dancers. Some will love the information and more people will be tuning in. Some will not give a doodledy damn - their privilege.

"Dance can be a part of many popular entertainment forms, from ice shows,
movies and music videos to Broadway musicals and the circus."
