The New West Oahu

Advancing slowly but many things that were the process are solidifying. Social Dancing for instance is getting more solid by the day. The Central Valley, where I live, is staying about right even after losing Just Tacos in Mililani. Latin music was not enough. You gotta dance and they never had enough room for a dance floor. Dot's in Wahiawa is doing just fine. There are a few others but not definite. So the next best sections are the Waianae Coast and the North Shore. Both had Housing and Business Parks cancelled because the Honolulu Fat Cats want to "Keep The Country, Country." which means do your business in Honolulu.

"Social dancers know that sharing happiness on the dance floor
is the ultimate reason and they just will never regret it."

For most of us in West Oahu, we need some more human action going on the Waianae Coast and the North Shore. They should not be encumbered by the rail disaster. More housing and more business parks. It is still a saying in West Oahu. "I coulda got home in 20 minutes.) Everyone in Honolulu is now aware that "Rapid Transit" is no more and no one mentions it. It will taking longer from Makaha to downtown Honolulu in the near future with the Caldwell's Rapid Transit. We are talking fourteen hour days for people living in the outskirts. Cayetano had it right but ten million dollars were spent to lie about him. And the Rail - right now is making millions and millions of dollars daily.

Meanwhile in West Oahu we have two of the oldest social dance clubs in Hawaii. Aiea Ballroom Dance Association with an Anniversary Dance on Saturday, May 18th at the famous Palladium and Wahiawa Ballroom Dance Club, Anniversary Dance on Saturday, May 11th Which means we are going get a new social dance club in Kapolei, the Waianae Coast or the North Shore this year. The hassle of dancing in Honolulu cannot be overcome. Traffic is going to get worse, not better.

“You can't stop the future - you can't rewind the past -
the only way to learn the secret - is to press play.”
