West Oahu

Wahiawa Ballroom Dance Club will be have their 50th Anniversary Dance on Saturday, May 11th at the Halemano Plantation. One of the oldest dance clubs on this Island and still going strong. Perhaps even bigger now that more people in the West are awakening to the possibilities of so many things that do not have to be done in Honolulu. The old mantra, "Keep the country, country" was for the benefit of the Honolulu Fat Cats, not ours. Witness the Rail Calamity. Yes, we know, Moe, its always been the dough,

Unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word in reality. This is
why right, temporarily defeated, eventually is stronger than evil triumphant."

The West will adjust to the Rail Disaster. There will be more regular cars, more electric cars and even driver less cars. There is even a plan for a Driver less Bus, which may not be too difficult to convince the users because of the Rail Humbug.. The Caldwell administration will only make it worse. And the dance pavilion in Waipio has definitely been cancelled to help pay for rail. Estimates for the Rail Disaster began at five Billion, now at fifteen Billion dollars. The Caldwell group, doesn't like to say much. But we can see they may be dancers, we call it the side step followed by a spot turn.

Latin dance is a general label (and a term in partner dance competition jargon) that refers to various forms of ballroom dance and folk dance, most of what originated in Latin America and became known world wide during the last century. Most of the solid dances have been about a dozen or less and, have been pretty well fixed. There have been over 100 dances that have come and have lasted less that 20 years. In Latin America, you can include a range of perhaps four or five hundred different dances from the original inhabitants in Latin America.

"Social dancers know that it’s not whether you get knocked down,
it’s whether you get up again."
