West Honolulu

Temporary name change while we wait for some feedback from somebody that lives in the district. And West Honolulu seems to be opening up in spite of the Rail Disaster. Of course it is all going North of King St. As far as they can away from the noise and humbug of Da Rail Mess. We may go all the way to the Stadium. There are several small night clubs developing with small dance floors so the evidence is there, people are dancing in West Honolulu.

"The Apathy Anonymous meeting has been canceled,
due to lack of interest."

There is some action in Chinatown and there is a Dream To Dance studio in Palama. From what I hear, there is a Chapter of HBDA in Kalihi, but I don't know much about them. So there will be a social dance club in West Honolulu somewhere between Chinatown and the Stadium. Just stay away from the future slums of Oahu.

Got this beautiful photo from Stephen Marino and what a break for us.

The probable social dancers in this territory are the plenty of "street dancers" that already exist and are attending places in Waikiki. Everyone seems to know where the traffic horrors are. Auwe! On a Saturday night in Waikiki, it can take you 20 minutes just to get out of your parking area. In Waianae, they are fond of saying, "I coulda been home in 20 minutes."

Music - Tango

"Tango can be danced in a thousand different ways, but lets step on the ground first, because that is where the energy comes from. Therefore this is where we ought to dance to the music. And without the music there is no dance, no tango, no teacher, no student. A true teacher can only transmit the teaching the music has left him."
