Losing a little ground.

I am getting to know a little more about blogging every day. I put Dancing Nights in the top three and dropped Blogging Hawaii into the second tier. I use my outside blogs to promote the second tier blogs. The results have been there, a couple of those in the second tier are ahead of Dancing Nights at four days into the month. And we have to face it, Blogger stats are a long way from being perfect.

"While we are seeking happiness - we will pass many travelers headed
in the opposite direction, seeking happiness."

Blogger seems to do a good job on the counters and they count everything that hits. Since most search engines are well known they can be blocked. And each blog can turn them off. I have allowed search engines to get into all our blogs and of course they run up the hits in spurts. Most of us just want to know how many readers are reading. But the search engines help on the Internet and most of our blogs are in the first two pages of search. Look up, "Dance Blogs on Oahu" and you can see

Blogger has a lot of stats to ponder over, much of which I am slowly learning. In most of my blogs, the US is the audience. However, now and then Russia gets in because they have a awful lot of scam spam robot hit engines there. I designed my own stats to my own specifications using a spreadsheet program. Then I have all hits on automatic daily average and seven blogs to compare them with each other. It gives me even more meaningful data. Anyone with a counter on their dance site, that would like to be included in my stats, look me up. It's looking good.

Dancing Nights is still solid in the top blogs because it has Richie Fun as Guest Author and it has a couple steady Information Contributors. And Divino Ritmo Dance Studio is very prominent inviting many readers. Another set up like that in any blog will guarantee 15 average hits per day.
