“In our dance world, there is no greatness where
there is not simplicity, goodness, and truth.”
Meanwhile, the Rail Disaster continues to screw up the works just about anywhere. Estimates continue to go up, and now at 8 billion dollars. You can buy 1000 articulated buses for less than one billion dollars. But the Fat Cats in Honolulu are raking in the dough. Anyone have an idea of what members of HART get in salaries? And all they got to do is say "Right,Chief" at the right time. Hanabusa just got on, it's "Easy Money."
Fasi and his gang knew that they could please the riders by making it comfortable to ride public transportation, People would prefer that than bumper to bumper on the freeway. Now it is going to be the other way around. The "know it alls" in the Fat Cat department just never cared and they will never understand. Gotta build dat rail. Big Bucks.
Fortunately, the social dancers on Oahu are making their adjustment without too much trouble. I have been trying to figure out how many social dancers we have on this Island and I have pretty close estimates to 20000 dancers. Anyone else have a figure from somewhere? I would think it coutld go to 30000, but what do I know? The new Fred Astaire studio in Kapolei would make a big difference if it is ever installed. Their Rumba box step is quick, quick, slow. Arthur Murray's is slow, quick, quick. We can have a ball with that.
