And what are the potential benefits of social dancing without going completely with the regimented routines taught by the disciplines. First you will learn to let yourself go and move to the music. And swaying may be good enough for a beginning, just let yourself go. When you take lessons, and the teachers on Oahu really know what they are doing, it will increased the confidence in your dance abilities. You may find, an improved mental acuity and things will be more clear.

You may feel a greater flexibility in your body, perhaps improved endurance and overall health, You know you are burning calories and there will be a real stress reduction, And best of all, is that in social dancing you will meet new people. And why do you think it is called Social Dancing? The basic dance steps you will go for will be the Waltz, Foxtrot, Rumba, Cha-cha cha, American Tango and East Coast Swing. Those are the basic dances in Social Dance.

The entire dance scene on Oahu is looking good. The Social Dancers are emerging as the biggest group. There are several different factions is our dance world but there is less animosity and more acceptance of our differences. We are not clones and we each have a right to our own honest opinion. And we should respect the others and no one is gonna "dictate" how we should dance.

A little late for the New Year but I thought it was a good one.
