Coping with the Trump Plague

Most of our dance groups have been extremely supportive, with a few naturally concerned about make-up classes and possible refunds. Most studios have answered email and immediately. Most advise communicating to each other, and they are waiting to see how things play out before committing their studios to any decisions about future plans. This has been hard for everyone because everyone has always preferred to handle everything immediately. The open-ended nature of the situation has been stressful.

"Social dancers wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright
no matter how gray the day may appear."

It has been a roller-coaster for a few weeks, but most of us have been grateful to be able to use the seriousness of the governor and school district’s responses as a guide and barometer for the danger of the threat in our area, something each of us has felt ill-equipped to judge. There are some dance studios choosing not to close, and we must support their decision. Each studio owner should know what is right for their groups. Masks and a six foot separation should be minimal. For now line dancing is just fine if you have a big enough place to keep six feet of distance.

Remember the Good Old Days?
Social media differs from traditional/industrial media in many ways, including quality, reach, frequency, usability, immediacy, and permanence. There are many on this island that have seen it plain as day that there are half as many blog sites as web sites on this Island. There are many effects that stem from Internet blog usage. According to Nielsen, Internet blog users continue to spend more time with social media sites than any other type of site. At the same time, the total time spent on social media in the U.S. across PC and mobile devices has increased drastically.

"Social dancers believe that to be without hope is like being without goals.
What are you working towards?"
