The Weekend Plans

OK, I cannot go to town for HBDA Ohana, gotta rest from the Bus hardships. Most of our readers will be going to the HBDA Ohana Night on Friday the 15th at the famous Palladium. Nice bunch of people but unfortunately they don't let us know much either. Many will also go to St. Patrick's Day dance of Wahiawa Ballroom Dance Club at the Wahiawa Recreation Center. Got the last minute news that the west will be rolling too.

"To seek truth and to utter what one believes to be true can never be a crime.
No one must be forced to accept a conviction. Conviction is free."

Then on Saturday they will be attending the Dance Hawaii dance at the Aliamanu Intermediate. Should be a nice crowd attending. The reader/dancers in the West are picking up on this action and I certainly will try to be there. Get photos, info, maybe a few quotes. social media for the blog.

For sure we will have a big crowd in the smashing affair of the Kapolei Chapter, HBDA on Monday. I will be there taking pictures and hope some of the attendees taking photos will email me one or two, even though Kapolei is the one closest to me. The right ones could go into the slide show that I am just starting up in the Ewa Bus Stop blog and hope to include anyone from the West.

The Caldwell people still keep screwing up the bus fiasco, by crippling the functionality of the existing bus routes in Honolulu. And plan on forcing users to "upgrade" to a rail service that they may not want or need to get that functionality back, the city is making a huge and annoying mistake for the citizens of the entire state. And the higher costs will come close to bankrupting the City.

Double the articulated buses we have now, would just about do it. Then bring a few
of these Bi-Articulated buses to clinch the deal. One tenth the cost of the Rail Damage
and five times more efficient. "I coulda got the bus right around the corner.
No need rail station and no need the car either."

You get people to enthusiastically use public transportation by making it compelling, comfortable and awesome and easy to use. You don't get people to enthusiastically use your services by forcing them to. In fact, that's probably a great way to ensure that a huge number of people who may have been interested in trying out your service will never even look at it. Cities all over the US bringing the Parking at the Rail Station to less than $200 per month because they are losing passengers to the automobile industry. More cars on the road? Of course, better than the Rail Humbug.

Pub's Side Note: Yes, we know, it's the dough, Flo. Da big big bucks in Rail Profits!
