United Visayan Hall

Nice day in Nanakuli and caught up with a lot of my data alignment in my computers. Unfortunately one of my flash drives seem to have some trouble. May have to dump it. But now that I am slimming my data necessities, I don't need so many flash drives. I am traveling light.

"In the old dance clubs, there was always one person who really knew what was going on.
And that's the one they had to get rid of."

Took a nap and missed my first intended bus but ready for the next one with plenty of time. Beautiful beach scene, a few fishing poles and nice and calm. The bus was a little late and with two bikes on a two bike rack. While I was stunned, a guy from the bus got out and took his bike off. What a relief.

On the way it was getting dark and I took my sunglasses off. From the Waipahu Transit Center it was a short ride to the Visayan. There was a guy fixing a flat and that happens in the best of families. I went in and the place was jumping. Ben at the door to bid everyone welcome.

I knew I wouldn't have enough time to do everything but I had to try and they were beginning to have a ball. Evidently a good place to dance, specially when we need places where we can dance in West Oahu. Hopefully we can get some regularity in this nice place.

They wanted to eat earlier than usual which was all right with me, because I cannot eat. So there was the Ring of Prayer, always an impressive part of the our evening social dances.

Then they have their line dancing while they wait for the Kau Kau line to thin down. I think, we need a little more line dancing. But what do I know? But I am glad to see more men joining into the line dancing in the West just for fun. You don't have to show anyone anything. Just enjoy moving to the music.

The entire social dance enchilada is evolving and we must accept that it will be according to the wishes of dancers involved. Such a natural function and these are the people that are doing it.

Madeline, Felipe, Elsa, Franco and Eliza

My good friends from Wahiawa Ballroom Dance Club. Just beautiful and there seems to be more interchange of dancers throughout the West. Yes, we are getting to be one big happy family in the West.
And It's Gotta Stop!

Had a dance and made the rounds. Gotta a little news here and there. We surely need some quotes from our fellow dancers. Dis da place to say it!

Then I saw Naomi and I wanted a photo of her and another couple, she had just the party.

Takai's on the dancefloor do their West Coast Swing.!! ~George Garcia

George and Roscel may move to Hawaii permanently and teach dancing. So we may have the opportunity to help them get started. They are making good connections all around. We wish them well.

Had another dance and another look around, spotting some other good friends outside and this was the time because it was a little dark. Had to try it.

Valerie, Richard, Letecia and Amaro, I was lucky or
I am getting to be photographer. Naw!

Getting time to get my goodies from Times Market (Large Curd Cottage Cheese) and try to get the 9:00 bus going back up the Waianae Coast. These people were having a lovely time. All we can do is hope it continues and we will have bigger crowds dancing.

Pub's Side Note: Hopefully we can get the same kind of kokua from other parties too. Mahalo to all our good people out there.
