Speaking Out

Calvin's blogging is without a doubt a leading factor in the hits acquired by Town Dancer and is keeping that blog at the forefront of dance blogging on this island. But I as I have reiterated, we do not need clones, but we surely need Guest Authors, desperately.

The Essence of Social Dancing (article) in the Honolulu Dance Guide blog is a very good definition of the social dancing as is developing on this Island. Look in to it and you will understand why that blog has acquired so many reader/dancers in such a short while. You can take ten of your best International web and blog sites and together will not equal the hits on Honolulu Dance Guide. The readers can tell you something by just "hitting." So evidently Honolulu Dance Guide may be on to something.

Rock And Jazz, Hawaii looks like a terrific blog and has a good set up and the only thing lacking is an "honest" opinion from anyone. They lean more to the music than the dancing and it is all goody goody gum drops. We are going to eventually have some good places where we can enjoy ourselves dancing our way. But no one will know unless someone gives them an honest opinion.

"Some people think that all International Dancers are disciplined. That is not true

of all of them. With many it is devotion and there is a great difference."

Then the review by Dr. David Easa on his latest excursion to a Dance function in a Hotel. That was blog with an honest review, an honest opinion and honest contructive criticism. That would have sent the hits soaring on that blog and done an awful lot of good for our dance community. Unfortunately it has been removed.

the kind of society that is incapable of exercising real discretion."

It was not the same as those warmed over glowing newsletter kind of reviews we get in some blogs. Now if we could get these types of honest opinions into our blogs, the hits would go through the ceiling. I could foresee many more of my blogs going independent, and I could phase myself out of them very comfortably.  And this blog (leading in hits) has been chosen as the one to lead the International dancers. It belongs to them and they should have a say so in dancing matters. I am presently in the process of phasing myself out. Read and see.
