We do need more men is social dancing. Not fancy dancers, because we are social and on a Night Club floor, less is sometimes more. Sometimes just having a little fun groove step in place can be better than a whole bronze routine. And the whole thing is to enjoy moving to the music. It is hard to over-emphasize the importance of the closed dance hold. In the closed dance hold, the lady is positioned slightly to the right of the man. Likewise, the feet are slightly offset so that the right foot of either partner can step between the other partner's feet. In this way, knees don’t bang and each partner can step into the other. The lady should position herself so as to ensure that this connection point is maintained.
Use simple dance moves that look natural, relaxed and don't take up too much space. Use moves that you can execute well to the music. It goes without saying that there are literally hundreds of dance moves for parties and clubs out there. You want to use a lot basic, where you start to make rhythm connection and go out from there, do a few simple moves and then come back to your basic. Do the most moves you are comfortable with and then really focus on doing them well. Don't bust out moves that you have not practiced or feel comfortable with. And have yourselves a ball.
