Night clubs on this island of Oahu can provide music, live entertainment, and dancing for patrons of varying ages. Some clubs cater to the 18 and over set, while others are strictly for those 21 and older. There are very few clubs on Oahu catering to people in their 40's, the more experienced dancers, and 90% of our gang are over 40. So we must be careful to pick the right places where we can go and dance our way. Not many in the evening dance scene have understood. There is a definite younger crowd and a definite older crowd going to Night Clubs on Oahu and many are still set at, and making the overhead on the Alcohol tab.
Most Salsa dancing night clubs has mixed ages of people dancing Mambo while the youngsters have already gone past Reggaeton and Salsa and now dancing Zouk. The young "MUST" have change and it must be new. We cannot change that, it has always been that way. Young people like to visit night clubs to dance, meet others, and just hang out. And most are in the bottom half of the pyramid, in ability to dance. Music can range from hip hop to jazz to pop. And the type of dancing is their meeting ground and they love the buzz from alcohol. Most are located in Waikiki or Honolulu. And they can still understand if someone mentions "never trust anyone over 30."
We must accept that, and the timing must be different. Some Salsa places are not opened until 10 pm and can go until 2 or 3 am easily. Older groups prefer the hours of 8 to 12 midnight. Older people tend to be social dancers and to dance the "accepted" dances that have been danced for a century or more, their way. They become more rhythmically inclined and not so much step and arm tricks inclined as the young. Through experience many learn that they do not have to be fancy to enjoy the music and the dance.

“Social dancers believe that dance is the hidden language of the soul.
You not there yet? Fine, take your time.”
