Night Clubbing on Oahu

A hundred years ago, young people recognized the fact that they preferred different music than older people. The young establish the term "Never trust anyone over thirty." In this century it became established that the DJs are up to with the latest hits in the US and even the world and the younger crowd goes for that. The live music performers are more into the classics and from the billions of regular music, there are thousands of Goodies But Oldies. Most of us like good music and clubs have a better sound system than we do. Hopefully we are at a club because they have the kind of good music we want to hear.

"Social dancers believe that the only physical activity to offer
protection  against dementia was frequent dancing,"

In this century many clubs on Oahu know that they cannot have same venue every day of the week. Now we may have music for the swinging young on a Tuesday evening. A Salsa night on Wednesday and a Swing dance night on Thursday. Dance night clubs cannot be mainstream anymore, they must have certain nights playing for particular style of dance and they must be flexible to new trends. There are too many different Latin dances to satisfy the clientele, so the night club entrepreneur must by trial and error, normalize by standardizing the agenda. And Latin will be continuing trend in this century even fake Latin. Look at Lambada.

There are no Latin Night Clubs in Hawaii. But some clubs may have a Salsa night, a Tango night or other types of Latin dance music and usually boast a good sized dance floor. They have always sold liquor and for older dancers at a slower pace, The older dancers are not heavy drinkers so there has to be a cover charge to pay for the activities offered. On the Mainland, the mornings and afternoon must be for some other income producing item such as a dance studio to help pay for the overhead. And you already got the floor. People come to socialize.... Drink, dance, listen to live music, meet a partner, friends and have some fun with them. "Laissez les bon temps roullez."

"The blogs and even the web sites are becoming a new dance force, for Truth, Inclusion
and Innovation and made. Of the dancers, by the dancers and for the dancers."
