It May Be Coming Around

Everybody on Oahu knows where Waimanalo is but no one seems to know much about it. For our purpose we should attempt to define the initial area we would like to "uncover" in regards to social dance. Hawaii Kai, Makapuu Point, Waimanalo, and Enchanted Lake. And it could expand up the Windward Coast.

Most of the people seem to be into the American Style of Dance with a little fusion here and there. Further north in Kailua and Kaneohe it is definitely in the American Style of Dance and that is good, Arthur Murray and two HBDA chapters. There are others but we do not hear much about them.

Then there is the Night Club action: That is coming to this section for sure. Perhaps only one good one and probably at Makapuu Point. It can easily exclude the very young for the changes in their dancing are just too rapid to keep up with. Avoiding the heavy weekend traffic in Waikiki, a Night Club that has something close to Social Dancing with an older group would certainly be welcome in the area. It would be a natural for this blog, specially a club that could take into account that dancers could drink other things besides water and alcohol. Food for thought.
