When it comes to nightlife on Oahu - 4 a.m. dance parties and world-class DJs are here but only in town and Waikiki. But it’s also possible to find great places to dance or listen to live music between dinner and last call, on the outskirts of Oahu. The four corners are Makaha, Makapuu Point, Kapolei and Turtle Bay. You just have to know where to look. Most have the regular advertising outlets, radio newspaper and TV. In the last three decades there has been a great increase in beautiful Web Sites And in this century the Blog Sites are taking hold and you are going to see some of our favorite spots featured in blogs. We just can’t guarantee you’re going to make that 8 a.m. surf lesson.
The late-night martini bars with a good size dance floor are known for their dance parties. The dimly-lit bars provide nightly DJs in the haven of Oahu nightlife. They serve a range of classic and inventive drinks for any taste in liquor as well as beer, wine and well offerings. Happy hour runs anywhere from 5 p.m. til 9 p.m. daily and some places all night on Sundays. Each night has a different feel, And the dancing week is usually from Thursday to Saturday. And there may be more places coming up with a classy authentic restaurant every day and on Thursday night turning into a hot spot for live music and late-night entertainment.
We can hope to get some feedback from some places to share with our reader/dancers who are accustomed to dancing on dance floors. A ten by ten is not a dance floor. And the days of ten thousand square foot ballrooms were over in the last century. Live music on Oahu has both local and international artists and will give you much more of the oldies but goodies.
