I can see the dance scene a lot more clearly these last couple of months and I feel that we are now firmly into the 21st century. There are many dance groups on Oahu and most go through the motions but they are not democratically run. They are oligarchies but fortunately they are "benevolent" oligarchies. The want to do good for the dancers. The "normal" curve seems to be there except that the availability of computers is still in doubt.
The top 20 percent are "Gung Ho" for blogs and any type of communication with the entire island including advertising. They are able to see the advantages of public relations and are willing to kokua to Da Max. Then there are about 70% "fellow travelers" that feel that all of that is nice, - now let's get on with the dancing. Still a great group in the molding. Then on the bottom are the ten per cent that simply are not for any outside intrusions and blogs are not needed. We will do our utmost to respect their wishes.
We are making some contact with feedback. Most of our readers still think of a "large" commitment and we cannot blame them. Some have had experience in newsletters and know that it can be be quite a commitment. But blogs are not newsletters. It is much like advertising, but it is really a more direct communication to the reader/dancers. And you write only when you damn well please. we just provide the platform. Slightly different way of looking at it and it lends itself easily as Social Media. So somebody email it in. A sentence, two sentences? Three? Why not? - and it is your choice.
