The entire enchilada of dance is looking good on Oahu. All the numbers seem to point to an increase in "Social" dancers. The others are from the "to be seen" factions such as the Competition, Exhibition, Caberet and Acrobatic types. The social dancer has been dancing in Parks, Malls, Gas Stations, District Parks, Community Centers and School Cafeterias. In this century they are now finding the Night Club scene very enjoyable. In turn many of the "Street" night club dancers are taking lessons at the dance clubs to polish up their movements so the amalgamation has been ongoing.

“And hand in hand, on the edge of the sand, they danced by the light of the moon.”
― Edward Lear, The Owl and the Pussycat

The Club Dancers will find themselves also attending dances at District Parks etc. The whole enchilada will evolve into one solid group and they will comprise over 80% of the dancers on this Island. The other twenty percent will be the "to be seen" specials and the peripherals, Line, Salsa, Swing, Tango and whatever else comes up.  And there will be some standardization of the movements to facilitate the interchange of dance partners in any socially accepted dance. And of course "Fusion."

The elimination of many will come about naturally. Bolero, Paso Doble, Quickstep and the Viennese Waltz simply because there is no need. They will be relegated to the exhibition category. Bachata and Salsa is creeping in and it means that social dancers have the option to use material outside of any syllabus and/or level of any discipline. The entire enchilada is looking hot. Our blogosphere is staying healthy, which means no more extreme upswings or downswings. Seems like the entire enchilada is settling down and I plan on leaving it at five blogs and getting rid of my best blog as soon as possible.

“Social dancers know that letting go means to realize that some people may be
a part of your history, but not necessarily a part of your destiny.”
