From Aunty Maile, WBDC Annual

Aloha Everyone!

We had such a wonderful time of dancing and camaraderie last night! I want to thank all of you for coming and for your donations of desserts and door prizes.

Door prizes came in small packages and large packages, but they were all significant. Some door prizes were wrapped and some were not. Nonetheless, there were a few that I could tell what it was.  Among them were the beautiful art work of Arthur Oda, using paper cut-out flowers, over his brilliant and beautifully colored drawings. Another, was the donated door prizes from the Aiea Ballroom Dance Association, a gift with tons of goodies in a pretty pink cloth gift bag. This gift bag was creatively embroidered by the talented Dave Cardell with the lettering ABDA! Then there were, the beautifully hand made leis of yarn, made by Rose Ballungay and last but surely not least, all the kitchen spices, wines, and what have you, donated by Rod and Rose Sabug.

These people were among the many that possesses the resourceful talents that anyone would want.

With that, I want to say that WBDC truly appreciates every door prize donation to the fullest, but unfortunately, we were not able to call out and announce every door prize on the microphone, as we needed to provide enough uninterrupted time for the Taxi Dance Contestants, who were trying to win and use up their dance tickets.

CONGRATULATIONS GO OUT TO THE WINNERS OF THE WAHIAWA BALLROOM DANCE CLUB'S 44TH ANNIVERSARY, "TAXI DANCE CONTEST" WERE...

FIRST PLACE: LILIA AUGUSTINE!

SECOND PLACE: RENEE CARDELL!

THIRD PLACE: MONDAY VERZON!

Among the many scrumptiously delicious desserts were, Art and Joan Oda's custard puffs, Tina Fernandez's Concanin, Gloria Jimenez's Mango cake, and Rod Sabug's famous Ginapiitan soup.

The buffet of shrimp, steak, crab, fish, and all the side dishes, were very delicious  and more than a tummy could handle.  For that, we thank the Helemano Plantation Camp 808 staff for their generosity and hard work.
